SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of South Padre Island will be hosting an open house to collect feedback on the Convention Center Expansion Project.
On Friday, July 25, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the open house will provide an overview of the expansion plans, renderings, and proposed features at the Convention Center located at 7355 Padre Blvd.
According to a press release from the city, staff, city officials, and project representatives will be present to answer questions. The project's benefits to the community and local economy will also be discussed.
The city says the expansion will renovate the space, increase capacity, making South Padre Island a leading destination for events such as conventions or conferences.
“Expanding and revitalizing the Convention Center will allow us to better serve our residents while attracting more visitors to experience everything the Island has to offer," said Blake Henry, Executive Director of Visit South Padre Island.
"Community input will be essential to ensuring this project reflects our shared vision and safeguards the natural treasures that make South Padre so special."
