MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A South Texas Independent School District employee who was arrested in a child porn investigation appeared in court Tuesday afternoon.

A hearing was held for Roel Flores Jr., who was arrested after a criminal complaint revealed that thousands of files of child porn were downloaded from an IP address associated with his home.

According to federal documents, Flores waived a preliminary examination and detention hearing.

The court found probable cause that Flores should remain in federal custody without bond, with reasons including that he "poses serious danger to any person or the community," a detention document states.

As previously reported, a search warrant inside Flores' home revealed life-like latex replicas of infant-sized vaginal and anal cavities, as well as a pair of children’s underwear stained in the crotch area, according to the criminal complaint against him.

Flores remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshals, court records show.
