The South Texas International Airport closed Thursday after an aircraft made a rough landing.
The city of Edinburg said in a news release that the Cessna 210 involved in the incident had a gear collapse during the landing.
Officials said windy conditions contributed to the gear collapse.
“Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all onboard were safely evacuated,” the release stated.
The city said at around 1:30 p.m. Thursday that the runway is closed until further notice as a precaution.
“Airport officials are working to clear and inspect the runway before resuming normal operations,” the release said.
The city did not immediately provide a timeline for when normal operations may resume.
