South Texas College event connects community with first responders

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The South Texas College Regional Center for Public Safety hosted its annual Public Safety and First Responders Expo.

Friday's free event connected the community with professionals in law enforcement, firefighting, and emergency medical services.

In addition, it allowed the public to interact with first responders and experience safety demonstrations.

Local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies showcased state-of-the-art equipment and specialized vehicles used in the field, including armed tanks, motorcycle units, and horse patrols.
