Sherriff: San Benito man arrested for assaulting man with disability

SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a disabled man, the Cameron County Sheriff's Office announced.

Rolando Ramirez Jimenez, 49, was arrested by Cameron County sheriff's deputies after authorities received a call about an alleged assault on April 18.

When deputies arrived at the location, the caller reported that the suspect, identified as Jimenez, left the location after the assault.

The victim, a disabled man, was found at the location with a bruised and swollen eye and he was bleeding from his nose.

Based on the man's injuries and a collection of witness statements, authorities issued a warrant for Jimenez's arrest.

Third man sentenced for deadly stabbing of Harlingen football star

On April 29, he was found at a local mechanic shop in El Ranchito.

Jimenez was arrested on a charge of assault to a disabled person, a 3rd degree felony. He was transported to the Carrizales Rucker Detention Center.
