Sheriff: Man killed when he lunged at deputies with knife

HIDALGO COUNTY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Hidalgo County sheriff says deputies shot and killed a man during a domestic call tonight.

Sheriff Eddie Guerra shared on X that his deputies responded to a call on the 660 block of West Drive, south of Trenton on Tower Road, for a man armed with a knife.

Guerra says deputies used non lethal weapons on the suspect, they they were ineffective. He said the man lunged at deputies and they fired back.

The sheriff said the man was killed.
