EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man who was charged with two counts of indecency with a child out of Progreso has died in custody, according to the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office.
Romolo Toscano, 55, was taken into custody for the child indecency charges on July 25.
During his time in custody, Toscano had been regularly transported to the hospital due to ongoing health issues.
On Monday, Aug. 25, detention personnel noticed that Toscano was not feeling well.

According to authorities, Toscano was evaluated by in-house medical staff, who determined he needed to be transported to the hospital for further treatment.
Despite life-saving efforts, Toscano was pronounced dead at the hospital the following day.
Toscano's cause of death is undetermined.
The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers are investigating the in-custody death.
