Sgt. Sal Carmona retires after 25 years with Harlingen Police Department

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Harlingen Police Department said farewell and congratulations to Sgt. Sal Carmona after 25 years of service to the department.

Carmona, who oversaw the Highway Enforcement Unit, always worked to make sure the streets of Harlingen were safe for drivers and pedestrians.

People from the community and his family gathered to celebrate his long career and service.

In addition, Carmona was also a frequent guest of ValleyCentral newscasts and discussed topics from car seat safety tip, speeding, DWI enforcement, and pedestrian safety.
