Southeastern Hidalgo County in Deep South Texas...

Northwestern Cameron County in Deep South Texas...

Southwestern Willacy County in Deep South Texas...

* Until 8:30 p.m. CDT.

* At 7:38 p.m. CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Jose Borrego Middle School to Economedes high school, moving southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Edinburg, Harlingen, Weslaco, San Juan, Alamo, Donna, Mercedes, La Feria, Elsa, and Progreso.

Flood advisory in effect until 9:45 p.m. CDT this evening

* WHAT: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE: .A portion of Deep South Texas, including the following county: Hidalgo.

* WHEN: .Until 9:45 p.m. CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- At 7:46 p.m. CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area.

This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Some locations that will experience flooding include:

Edinburg, Mission, Pharr, Hidalgo, Palmview, Penitas, Sullivan City, La Joya, Palmhurst, North McAllen, Faysville, Sharyland, South McAllen, Linn, San Manuel, Hargill, Los Ebanos, Alton, B.L. Garza Middle School, and Olivero Garza Sr. Elementary School.

At 823 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Lyford Elementary School to Hidalgo. The movement was southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include:

Mission, Pharr, Harlingen, Weslaco, San Juan, San Benito, Alamo, Donna, Mercedes, and Raymondville.

This includes the following highways:

Interstate Highway 69 E between mile markers 14 and 47.

Interstate Highway 69 C between mile markers 1 and 6.

US Highway 281 between mile markers 784 and 832.
