Sergio Sanchez running for Texas House District 41

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Valley attorney Sergio Sanchez announced his run for Texas House District 41 earlier this week.

Sanchez is a former felony prosecutor at the Hidalgo County District Attorney's Office and has owned and operated The Sanchez Law Firm in McAllen since 2007.

“As a taxpayer, parent, business owner, and community advocate, I know firsthand the challenges our families face,” Sanchez stated in a news release. “District 41 deserves a strong, conservative voice in Austin who will defend our values, fight for safer communities, lower taxes, better our schools, and protect our Texas way of life.”

Sanchez announced his bid for the Republican nomination on Wednesday, a day before Texas Rep. R.D. "Bobby" Guerra (D-McAllen) said he will not be seeking reelection.

Victor ‘Seby’ Haddad, McAllen City Commissioner District 5, has also announced his bid for the seat.
