Second wave of 'No Kings' protests planned for Saturday

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A second wave of "No Kings" protests is planned across the country this weekend.

On June 14, the first wave of "No Kings" protests drew thousands of supporters across the nation and in the Rio Grande Valley who voiced their stance against policies by the Trump administration.

Gov. Greg Abbott said Thursday he would deploy the state's National Guard and Texas Department of Public Safety at the capitol ahead of the protests.

The first "No Kings" protests were considered one of the largest single-day protests in U.S. history.

The protests are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18.
