MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A new park in McAllen officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning.
The new park, named Morris/Perez Park, is a collaboration between the City of McAllen and the McAllen Independent School District.
"This new park represents what can be achieved when our City and our School District work together for the benefit of our community,” said Mayor Villalobos. “It’s more than just green space, it’s a place where students, families, and neighbors can gather, play, and grow together.”
Morris/Perez Park, located between Morris Middle School and Perez Elementary, is now open to the public.
The project features ADA-compliant walkways, benches, picnic tables, chess tables, restroom facilities, a granite trail, and more.
Morris/Perez Park is now open daily until 11 p.m. It is located at 1400 Trenton Rd. in McAllen.
