SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Some areas of South Padre Island are expected to experience low water pressure this week as utility installations are underway.
Laguna Madre Water District will shut off the water in parts of the island to connect a new section of 6-inch water main.
The affected area will be Padre Boulevard and Gulf Boulevard from East Constellation Drive to East Capricorn Drive.
Laguna Madre Water District recommends that customers store water in containers or buckets for sanitary use and cooking.
"LMWD is working diligently to improve water service to our customers, LMWD apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause to its customers," the company announced.
Water interruptions are anticipated from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9.
