Sandbag distribution for Mercedes residents

MERCEDES, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Mercedes has announced that there will be a sandbag distribution for residents.

At 6 p.m. on Thursday, sandbags will be distributed until sand runs out at the Knights of Columbus Parking Lot, located at 150 N. Ohio Ave.

The City of Mercedes' Facebook post asks residents to bring their shovels and proof of residency, which can be a water or electric bill.

There will be a limit of three bags per residence.
