The Border Patrol agent from San Benito who was arrested last month on charges of possessing images of child sexual abuse has been indicted.

A federal grand jury indicted Eduardo Longoria Jr. on Tuesday, court records show.

Longoria was arrested March 25 at his home in San Benito by agents with the Department of Homeland Security-Office of Inspector General and Homeland Security Investigations.

The agents executing a search warrant discovered more than 100 files of child sexual abuse material on a silver-colored Samsung S24 Ultra cellphone, according to a criminal complaint.

“The child pornography files were stored in a calculator photo vault application that can secretly hide photographs, videos, and other files without anyone knowing as the application is disguised as a calculator,” the complaint stated.

The indictment against him includes three counts, which all list the victim as a minor younger than 12 years old. That document said Longoria’s phone contained images and videos of child sexual abuse material.

The first count alleges Longoria possessed the material from Nov. 6, 2023 to Dec. 5, 2023. The second count is the same allegation, but spans a period of June 2, 2024 to June 26, 2024. The third count against him is possession of images and videos of child sexual abuse.

Previous attempts to reach multiple U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials about Longoria’s status with Border Patrol were unsuccessful.

He bailed out on March 28 on a $5,000 deposit on a $50,000 bond.

Longoria is scheduled to be arraigned on April 24.
