Sames Auto Group donates $20K to Driscoll Children's Hospital

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Sames Auto Group presented a donation check to Driscoll Children's Hospital Rio Grande Valley as part of its Test Drive for Smiles initiative.

Sames launched the Test Drive for Smiles Initiative in April, when it donated $10 for each test drive during the entire month.

In April, Sames saw approximately 200 test drives, totaling $20,000 in donation funds.

Sames presented the $20,000 check to Driscoll Wednesday morning.

"We exceeded our goal. We were so pleased with the result. We were impressed with how everybody came out to support, and every single one of those people who came out made a direct impact on the children of South Texas," said Evelyn Sames, CEO of Sames Auto Group.

Matt Walthoff, the president of Driscoll Children's Hospital Rio Grande Valley, says the donation will go towards general care for kids.

"Access to care, services, programs," Walthoff said. "These donations help us continue to grow our services and grow specific service lines to provide better access to care for children."
