RioPlex in Houston: An interview with Jim Collins  

HOUSTON, Texas – RioPlex hosted its “Texas Port to the Stars Foreign Direct Investment Summit” at the Westin Galleria in Houston on April 9th and 10th, 2025. 

It was the first time the region – the Rio Grande Valley and northern Tamaulipas – had promoted itself at a summit held outside its boundaries.

RioPlex was founded by the CEO Group, which was set up by the Hidalgo County Prosperity Task Force. One of the founders of the CEO Group was Jim Collins, co-CEO of Merit Commercial Real Estate.

During the summit, the Rio Grande Guardian International News Service secured an interview with Collins.
