MCALLEN, Texas – The Rioplex group has produced an e-newsletter recapping its first ever summit in Houston last month.

The event, titled Texas Port to the Stars: Foreign Direct Investment Summit 2025, attracted over 140 leaders from business, government, and global trade networks, including representatives from more than 12 foreign countries.

The two-day event was held at the Westin Galleria. Among those in attendance were Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez, Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño, Brownsville Mayor John Cowen, Jr., Harlingen Mayor Norma Sepulveda, McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos, and Mission Mayor Norie Gonzalez Garza. 

The 12 countries represented at the summit were Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, Pakistan, Singapore, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.

The event also saw the unveiling of Rioplex’s new brand and its seven member board of directors. The directors are Joaquin Spamer, Mario Reyna, Carlos Garcia, Martin Anzalduas, George Cardenas, Rene Capistran, and Esteban Guerra. 

“The Rio Grande Valley-Rioplex region took center stage at the prestigious Texas Port to the Stars: FDI Summit 2025 in Houston, signaling its rising prominence in international trade, logistics, and innovation,” the e-newsletter stated.

The attendees gathered with a shared vision, the newsletter stated – “to shape the future of cross-border investment and regional development.”

The e-newsletter included a short video. The narrative of the video stated:
