Rio Hondo Middle School holds annual history fair

RIO HONDO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Students at Rio Hondo Middle School took part in their annual history fair on Tuesday.

The students worked hard for several weeks on a wide range of historical projects. The fair offered a unique opportunity to showcase the students' creativity, research skills, and passion for history.

"These students chose a topic to research that interested them throughout the school year, either a person, an event, or a country," said Juan Castillo, 7th-grade Social Studies teacher. "They've been working on these projects for the past few weeks. We believe that these research skills will not only help them in high school and college, but throughout life. Overall, we are very proud of these students."

Castillo added that this is the second annual history fair and has grown since the inaugural event, and hopes to keep it going for many years to come.
