Rio Grande City ISD responds to employees' comments on Charlie Kirk's death

RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Rio Grande City Grulla Independent School District put out a statement following a district employee making remarks on Charlie Kirk's death.

Guadalupe Garza, Rio Grande City Grulla ISD Superintendent, put out a statement on Wednesday notifying the community that they are aware of the situation and will be following the Texas Education Agency guidelines on such matters.

"Rio Grande City Grulla ISD remains committed to maintaining a respectful and professional learning environment for all students, staff and community members," the statement reads.

Additionally, the district will also be conducting its own review of the situation at hand and follow TEA guidelines in addressing any employee misconduct.

Rio Grande City Grulla ISD did not address in the statement whether the employee is fired or on administrative leave.
