PHARR, Texas – The two busiest ports in the Rio Grande Valley were featured during RGV StartUp Week.
A panel discussion at the Pharr Global Business Hub comprised Luis Bazan, director of the Pharr International Bridge port of entry, and Antonio Rodriguez, director of cargo services and foreign trade zone administrator at the Port of Brownsville.
The moderator was Rick Carrera, economic development director for the Council for South Texas Economic Progress.
In answer to Carrera’s questions, Bazan spoke about the timeline for completing the eagerly-awaited second span at the Pharr Bridge. And Rodriguez fielded questions about the possibility of the Port of Brownsville becoming a container port.
