HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Ramen Prosper, a local vendor based in the Rio Grande Valley, makes ramen from scratch using traditional Japanese methods.

Bentacourt, co-owner of Ramen Prosper, shared how the idea to be part of the food concession stand at the RGV Red Crowns game came to life.

“Traditionally, ramen, you have hot soup, you have noodles, it’s hard to eat in a game setting, right, in the bleachers. So, what we thought is, 'Hey, we like Frito pies,'” Carlos Betancourt said.

The Frito pie element is being added to ramen, Betancourt said.

Mazemen is a traditional style of ramen: maze means mixing and men means noodles, together making a delicious mix of Japanese and Rio Grande Valley flavors.

Ramen Prosper will be at the RGV Red Crowns game at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday at 1216 Fair Park Blvd. in Harlingen.
