RGV Hispanic Chamber hosts annual Latina Leadership Conference

MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce hosted its Latina Leadership Conference on Thursday, focusing on empowering women business owners in their personal and professional lives.

The conference welcomed women to the Mission Event Center to network and gain insight into professional development through workshops and panel discussions.

"We're here to empower them [women] to have that confidence in themselves and how to improve themselves, how to speak up for themselves," said Cynthia M. Sakulenzki, president and CEO of the RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Since the Latina Leadership Conference launched in 2017, the RGV Hispanic Chamber has seen steady growth over the years.

"The first conference that we hosted only had between 80 to 85 women. Now we have grown to like 540, so obviously, we're doing something right," Sakulenzki said. "It's a great feeling to know that we're helping the women move up in the world."
