Residents vote against incorporation of Port Mansfield

PORT MANSFIELD, Texas (ValleyCentral) - Willacy County residents voted against incorporating the popular fishing destination Port Mansfield Tuesday night, according to unofficial election results.

Port Mansfield residents voted against incorporation with a total of 136 votes, or 60.18% of the vote.

Approximately 90 residents voted for incorporation, or 39.82% of the vote.

Since the vote on incorporation failed, all votes for mayor and the two commissioners are null and void, per the Texas government code.
