Region One ESC presents Superintendent of the Year, Angela Dominguez

DONNA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Region One Education Service Center presented a Superintendent of the Year plaque to Angela Dominguez from Donna Independent School District.

Dominguez was named the 2025 Region One Superintendent of the Year by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) during the scheduled School Board meeting.

"This recognition is incredibly humbling," said Dominguez. "It's a reflection of the hard work, resilience, and unwavering commitment that my team and I, alongside our Board of Trustees, have poured into supporting our students, teachers, staff, and families. I share this honor with the entire Donna ISD community because it belongs to all of us."

Since stepping into her role, Dominguez has introduced a wide array of initiatives designed to uplift every learner, including the development of a five-year strategic plan focused on five key pillars:

• Student Success
• Family and Community Engagement
• Operational Excellence
• Employee Development
• Financial Stewardship

The Texas Association of School Boards' Superintendent of the Year program recognizes exemplary superintendents for excellence and achievement in education leadership.

As Region One ESC's honoree, Dominguez advances to the next round of competition, where five finalists from across Texas will be selected.

The state winner will be announced at the 2025 TASA/TASB Convention in the fall.
