Rolando Mendoza, one of four men charged with murder in a July 5, 2023, fatal Raymondville bar shooting that resulted in the death of Guadalupe Ramirez has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.
He pleaded guilty on Thursday, May 1, to aggravated assault and was sentenced to seven years in prison.
The incident occurred in the parking lot of Linda’s Lounge, 355 N. 6th St.
Mendoza is one of three men charged with murder whose cases were transferred to the 197th state District Court in Brownsville.
He reached a plea deal with prosecutors.
Ricky Ramirez Jr. has entered a plea and will be sentenced in Brownsville in June.
Jose Angel Mendoza earlier entered a plea of guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter but his sentencing is pending in Brownsville. He pleaded guilty in December.
Ricky Ramirez Jr., of Raymondville, was charged with murder and engaging in organized criminal activity. He will be sentenced in June.
Jose Luis Martinez Jr. has two cases pending, murder and engaging in organized criminal activity, both still pending in Willacy County.
