Raymondville ISD unveils 2-year Continuation Scholarship Program

RAYMONDVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Raymondville Independent School District is launching a 2-year Continuation Scholarship Program to help students emerge debt-free and set them on a path toward financial stability and success.

The program provides enhanced access to post-secondary education for RISD graduates and is a milestone in the district's commitment to student success and community empowerment.

The Continuation Scholarship Program offers graduates an opportunity to pursue up to two additional years of education with Texas Southmost College and focus on completing an associate degree or industry certification.

Key features of the Continuation Scholarship include: paid tuition, books and fees, a dedicated full-time academic advisor, academic support from certified teachers, access to instructional technology such as laptops, computer labs and internet connectivity, meals and transportation services.

"Our district is deeply committed to meeting the growing need for a highly trained and educated workforce in the Rio Grande Valley, " said Clinton. "By providing this unprecedented opportunity, we aim to increase the percentage of students who complete a degree or industry certification. The Continuation Scholarship Program represents our dedication to ensuring that every student has the resources and support needed to achieve their full potential."

The program is designed to alleviate financial barriers and provide comprehensive support to ensure students' academic and professional success.

Work-study opportunities are also available which enable students to gain valuable experience while pursuing their education.

After graduation, students will remain enrolled and active at Raymondville Early College High School, leveraging the designation as an Early College High School P-TECH Campus. A satellite location in Raymondville, apart from the main high school, will accommodate continuing students and their academic advisors.

This facility will serve as a hub for online coursework and academic support services, fostering a conducive environment for learning and collaboration.

Upon completion of the two-year program, students will emerge debt-free, setting them on a path toward financial stability and success.
