Races headed to a runoff in Cameron and Hidalgo Counties

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Unofficial results are in for all races in Cameron and Hidalgo Counties with 100% of precincts reporting.

However, for some, the election is far from over. Nine races in Cameron and Hidalgo Counties are headed to a runoff to be decided at a later date.

Candidates who earn less than 51% of the votes in an election with more than two candidates are forced to go to a runoff.
