PSJA ISD hosts annual Prom Closet

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The PSJA ISD Counseling & Guidance Department is hosting its annual Prom Closet from April 22 to May 24.

The goal is to provide free formal attire to students to help ensure they have the prom night of their dreams, according to the Counseling and Guidance Department.

The Prom Closet is located at Jaime Escalante Middle School.
 
Since May 2021, the PSJA Prom Closet has featured a wide selection of donated dresses, evening purses, ties, and dress shirts for students to choose from.

The event is also part of the district’s initiative to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The district said the event highlights goal 12: "Responsible Consumption and Production, demonstrating how the district is committed to reducing waste in the community and reusing materials for a good cause."
