ALAMO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD Health Services Department hosted a free Health & Safety on Wheels Community Outreach Event on Thursday.
Held at the Supermercados Morelos, the district and its police department provided attendees with educational resources and information on a variety of health and safety topics.
"We usually travel through our community, and we try to do it as many times as we can in a month," said Sulema Solis, Director of Health Services for PSJA ISD. "We utilize places like this because we know that our community will come out to get their groceries."
The district also showcased its Health & Safety Mobile Operations Bus, a unique vehicle utilized by the health services for community engagement and as a mobile command center during emergencies.
