PSJA community celebrates newest pre-K academy

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Educators, students, and families gathered Friday morning to celebrate the official grand opening of a new preparatory academy in the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District.

The Buckner Building Blocks Academy is the newest campus dedicated to serving pre-K 3 and pre-K 4 students.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to welcome the students and staff to the new campus.

“These academies build the foundational skills our little ones need so that by the time they reach testing grades, they’re well-prepared and set up for success. At the end of the day, it’s always about our students and making sure they thrive," said PSJA ISD superintendent Alejandro Elias.

Buckner Building Blocks Academy serves as the third PSJA ISD campus dedicated to early childhood education.

The new campus is located at 1001 N. Fir St. in Pharr.
