Progreso ISD school board president arrested

PROGRESO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Progreso Independent School District School Board President Juan Jose Ramos has been arrested on criminal charges, officials confirmed with ValleyCentral.

Hidalgo County confirmed Ramos was charged with public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance.

Ramos' arrest did not appear in a search on Hidalgo County Records. ValleyCentral spoke with Ramos early Wednesday. However, he said he has no comment on the situation.

ValleyCentral has also contacted the Progreso ISD Superintendent for comment. He has yet to respond.
