Power outage disrupts traffic signals in Weslaco area

WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Weslaco Police Department advises motorists to drive with caution following a power outage that has affected traffic signals.

The affected areas are in Westgate and Sugarcane Drive. Authorities advise drivers to use extreme caution when driving, especially at intersections where the traffic signals may not be working.

Authorities advise drivers to treat all intersections with non-functioning lights as 4-way stops, to come to a complete stop and yield the right of way to help prevent accidents.

Magic Valley Electric Cooperative is aware of the issue and is actively working to restore the power as soon as possible.
