Police work to de-escalate suspect barricaded in SPI hotel room

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (ValleyCentral)— South Padre Island Police are working to de-escalate a barricaded suspect.

SPI Public Information Officer Nikki Soto said the suspect has barricaded themselves in a room at the 310 block of Padre Boulevard.

Authorities say the suspect is alone at the location. The South Padre Island Police Department is working to de-escalate the situation with the help of other agencies.

No injuries have been reported as of 10 p.m.
