BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Brownsville Police Department is investigating an aggravated robbery that left a teen injured.
At approximately 11:50 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, authorities responded to an aggravated robbery on the 7600 block of Utah Road.
According to a news release, the incident resulted in a 17-year-old male being shot in the leg.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the teen was attending a party when he was approached by a male subject who allegedly attempted to take his gold chain, but was unsuccessful, police said.
Moments later, gunshots were fired at the party, and the teen was shot in the leg, according to the news release.
The teen was taken to the hospital by his family and friends for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
No additional injuries were reported.
On Saturday, Oct. 11, authorities arrested a juvenile suspect in connection with the case, police said.
The case remains under investigation.
