Police: Man escapes foot chase, climbs rooftop in Edinburg

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Edinburg police are at the scene of an incident involving a man they believe may be under the influence of drugs who climbed a building and is now on a rooftop.

Police received a report on the man Monday afternoon, alleging the man was acting suspiciously while carrying a shovel along Schunior Road and Jackson Road.

The man ran from the police and onto a nearby rooftop.

Police are working to de-escalate the situation.
