McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Two people have been hospitalized after crashing into a building in McAllen over the weekend, police say.
At approximately 12:14 a.m. Saturday, McAllen police responded to a crash at the 400 block of North Colonel Rowe Boulevard and N. 2nd Street, according to a news release from McAllen PD.
Authorities say a black Volkswagen Rabbit hatchback veered off the roadway before crashing into a building and a pole.
The building was unoccupied at the time of the crash.
The driver, a 31-year-old man, and a passenger, a 24-year-old man, were taken to a hospital. Both were reported to have serious injuries as a result of the crash.
Criminal charges are being investigated and alcohol use is a suspected factor in the crash, police said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
