Planned Parenthood in Brownsville offers free STI testing

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Planned Parenthood South Texas is hosting a free STI testing clinica festival Tuesday.

The festival will take place until 7 p.m. at the Brownsville health center, located at 870 E. Alton Gloor Blvd., Suite B.

The event is free and open to the public.

According to Planned Parenthood, the community-based health fair aims to expand access to sexual and reproductive health care.

The event features complimentary resources and services such as:

  • Free sexually transmitted infection testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia
  • Free hygiene bags and food bags
  • Music, games and prize giveaways
  • Health education and support provided by trained community health workers

"This festival is more than just an event it's a way to bring health care into our community in a joyful, welcoming way," said Marisol Medina, Habla Con Tu Hermana Program Manager at Planned Parenthood South Texas. "Many of the women we serve face real barriers to accessing care. Clinica Festival lets us meet them where they are with respect, resources, and a lot of heart."

No appointments, insurance, or documentation are required to participate in the event. All community members are welcome.
