PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Pharr Police Department is investigating an auto-pedestrian crash that left a 54-year-old man in critical condition on Friday.
The collision happened at approximately 8 a.m. near the intersection of Dicker Road and St. Marie.
A Pharr Police Department spokesperson told ValleyCentral that a 95-year-old driver was traveling down the road when he was reportedly blinded by the sun due to a vehicle that was improperly parked and facing the wrong side of the road.
A 54-year-old man was behind the vehicle with the trunk open, getting items from the car, when the 95-year-old man crashed into the stationary vehicle, "front end to front end," authorities say.
The 95-year-old's vehicle pushed the stationary car into the 54-year-old man and reportedly rolled on top of him.
The 54-year-old man is in critical condition, police say.
Neither men were identified by police.
At this time, no charges have been filed, but that may change as the investigation moves forward, Pharr said stated.
