A 23-year-old Edinburg man charged with capital murder is back in custody after failing to show up for a court hearing in April.

Abraham Guadalupe Gonzalez had his bond revoked after he failed to appear for a court hearing on April 16. He was booked back into the Hidalgo County Adult Detention Center on Wednesday.

The circumstances of his arrest aren’t immediately clear.

Gonzalez is facing charges of capital murder, aggravated robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity. He was indicted in September 2023.

Gonzalez, along with Bianca Lizbeth Gutierrez, Flor Alexis Sedano and Juan Gustavo Castellano Iracheta, are accused of killing Augusto Emmanuel De La Torre Quiroz on June 10, 2023, at his residence in Pharr.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Pharr police responded to the residence located at 520 E. Feather Avenue in reference to a welfare concern.

Upon arrival, officers found the garage door open and a door leading into the residence ajar.

All suspects were seen leaving the residence and were detained, according to the affidavit.

Following an interview with the suspects, it was revealed that they drove to the residence with the intentions of taking money, drugs and to pick up and transport two unidentified men who were being held at the residence.

According to the affidavit, Gonzalez and Castellanos held Quiroz at gunpoint and began to bind his legs while Gutierrez and Sedano searched the home for money and drugs.

Then, during a struggle, the two men shot Quiroz and fled. Gonzalez, however, returned to the residence to take a 2012 Gold GMC Terrain.

Gonzalez is being held without bond.
