Pharr Community Theater announces acting workshop

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCenter) — The Pharr Community Theater announced an acting workshop for children 11 to 17 years old.

The PCT said the workshop is scheduled for four consecutive mornings June 21 through 24 from 10 a.m. to noon, each day.

Award-winning local theatre teacher and director Richard Garcia will teach the class.

According to PCT, the class is geared toward beginners or more advanced students wanting to polish their skills. The class will cover character entrances and exits on stage; improvisation, body awareness, and stage business; and vocal techniques, including diction, warm-up, and projection. 

Class size is limited to the first 12 students who register online. A minimum of six registered students is needed to begin the class.

The cost per student is $70. Bottled water and fresh fruits will be available each day as healthy snacks.  

The class will be at the Pharr Community Theater Building located at 213 W. Newcombe Ave.
