According to a previous ValleyCentral report, Salinas was also arrested on January 20, 2024, for driving while intoxicated in Hidalgo County.

In a criminal complaint obtained by ValleyCentral, at 7 a.m. on Jan. 20, 2024, an Hidalgo County deputy conducted a traffic stop on a white GMC Sierra for driving 71 mph in a 45 mph zone.

The deputy had approached the driver, identified as Salinas, and stated that he had a “heavy odor of alcohol from his breath” and was slurring his speech.

The deputy ordered a field sobriety test, which Salinas failed.

He was arrested and charged with a DWI. According to Hidalgo County court records, Salinas' case was dismissed on April 30, 2025.

Additionally, court records indicate that his alcohol monitoring device was ordered to be removed from his vehicle on July 1, 2025, effective immediately.

Just nine days later, Salinas was arrested again on the same charges by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Salinas, also known as Pee Wee, was a former member of the popular 2000s group Kumbia Kings and performed big hits such as “Mi Niña Bonita” and “Na Na Na.” He is also known in the Latin music community as a solo artist.

He has not yet been released on bond, jail records indicate.
