PD: Man leads Weslaco police in car chase, suspect at large

WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Weslaco police are asking for the public's help in finding a man wanted for leading authorities in a car chase.

Authorities say they spotted 38-year-old Jose Medrano in a Gray GMC Sierra and tried to make a traffic stop. But they say Medrano refused to pull over and the chase began. 

According to Weslaco Police Department Public Information Officer Heribero Caraveo the pursuit came to a stop on Hernandez Street and Goolie Road in Donna.

They say Medrano ran away and is still at large. The Texas Department of Public Safety and the U.S. Border Patrol assisted Weslaco PD in the search of the suspect.
