PD: Driver arrested for aiming gun at people on road

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man who allegedly pointed a firearm at bystanders while driving throughout Harlingen was arrested, the Harlingen Police Department stated.

On June 4, the Harlingen Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service located and arrested fugitive Herbert Lopez at a residence located at the 1100 block of W. Johnson in Harlingen.

According to a news release from Harlingen PD, the U.S. Federal Probation Office, located in Brownsville, received a report stating that Lopez, who is a confirmed gang member, was driving around the Harlingen area.

A video received in the report showed Lopez in possession of a firearm and pointing it at individuals while driving throughout the city, the release added.

A federal warrant was issued for Lopez for violating the conditions of his supervised release.

After his arrest, Lopez was transported to Brownsville to be placed in federal custody.
