PD: 1 man dead, 1 arrested following Friday shooting

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — One man is dead and another arrested following a Friday evening shooting, the Pharr Police Department announced.

At approximately 6:54 p.m. on Friday, June 6, authorities responded to the 700 block of North Erica Street regarding a shooting, according to a news release from Pharr PD.

At the scene, authorities found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The responding officers attempted to perform emergency resuscitation procedures, but the man died from his injuries at the scene.

One man was apprehended at the scene, in connection with the shooting, authorities stated.

This is an ongoing investigation.
