Palmview police warn residents of scams using department caller ID

PALMVIEW, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Authorities are warning residents of a scam matching a Palmview Police Department phone number.

A a concerned resident told police he received a call from a person claiming to be from the Palmview Police Department.

According to a release from the City of Palmview, the scammer spoke only in Spanish and requested personal information from the resident.

The resident did not provide his information to the scammer, the release added.

Chief of Police Jose Trevino reminds residents that Palmview PD will not call you unless you have a case with the department.

Residents who get a suspicious call with a Palmview PD number should hang up and contact an official police number to report the incident.
