The Palmview Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying three people who stole a vehicle from a woman at a Whataburger.

In a news release, police said the theft happened early in the morning on May 17.

At approximately 2:38 a.m., authorities responded to a single-vehicle crash at the Stripes Convenience Store at 806 East Palm Drive.

“Shortly afterward, an officer was flagged down at an adjacent Whataburger Restaurant, where a young woman reported that her vehicle had been stolen and that she was injured in the process,” the release stated. “She explained that (the) suspects ran over her foot as she attempted to prevent the theft.”

An unidentified male driver and two female suspects sped away in her vehicle and crashed into a barrier at the Stripe’s diesel pumps and fled on foot, according to the release.

Police describe the male as wearing a gray polo shirt with a number “3” on the right sleeve, light-colored jeans, black tennis shoes and a bandage wrapping his right hand.

One of the females wore a flowered shirt with a light-colored jean skirt and beige sandals while the other wore an orange flowered bareback shirt, jean shorts and slip-on beige sandals.

Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call Palmview Crime Stoppers at (956) 548-8477.

Tips are anonymous and information leading to an arrest and conviction could result in a $1,000 cash reward.
