Over 15,000 outages reported as flood advisory occurs in Hidalgo County

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Outage maps are reporting over 15,000 customers in Hidalgo County are without service due to a flood advisory that is in effect.

According to the National Weather Service, the flood advisory will remain in effect until 6:30 p.m.

AEP Texas

Approximately 13,181 AEP Texas customers are reported to be without power across Hidalgo County.

AEP Texas estimates power will be restored at 10 p.m.

Magic Valley Electric Cooperative

Approximately 2,086 MVEC customers in Hidalgo County are reported to be without power.

A time of restoration has not been announced.
