Officials: 1 person hurt at Texas Cook'Em event

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — One person was reported injured during the Texas Cook'Em event on Friday evening, according to a statement from the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce.

The statement reads, "We are aware of an incident that occurred during the Texas Cook’em event last night involving a spectator. The safety and well-being of our attendees is our highest priority."

Officials say emergency services responded quickly and the victim involved received immediate medical attention.

The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce is cooperating with city officials and with the pyrotechnic company as a formal investigation continues, city officials said.
