Normalinda Vera honored as 2025 advisor of the year at PIHS

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Normalinda Vera has been named the 2025 Advisor of the Year at Port Isabel Early College High School.

Vera has over 15 years in education, helping rural students overcome financial barriers to further education, assisting with college applications, resumes, and military recruitment.

She has supported nearly 600 students, emphasizing the importance of planning and communication.

Normalinda advises students to have multiple plans and to seek support from counselors and family.

Looking forward to the upcoming school year, she remains committed to breaking barriers and ensuring student success.
